Kulog Payo

I just woke up from sleep. I am still sleepy but I have to get up because there is some work to do. Sigh! I can’t get my mind working yet, I don’t know where to begin this day’s work and I badly need to accomplish something.

For today, I will do wireframing of a social networking site (gonna be my first time to wire frame a bigger site and I don't know if I will do good). This will actually be my second major project for the company that I am working full time with. The first one I’ve got is more concerned with smileys. Yeah, smileys! They load in a Flash application, you click on them and they go into your email’s or comment’s message body. This app works with Friendster, MySpace, and different email platforms like Yahoo Mail and GMail. Sounds cool! We have very good smileys and at least a not so bad Flash application (my part here). It is being distributed now but I really believe that if i get more free time, I will need to improve minor things. There will always be future and better versions. I hope so!

smileys working with Gmail!

This is how the Flash application (initially) looks like. It looks easy to develop such but considering other techie things involved here - for me, it wasn't (though at first I thought it was).

True to say, I’ve been working with a very nice team. I am the Flash/Flex developer, I sometimes work with graphics and try hard to learn few PHP scripts, and I do layouts and few project planning and management too. We have with us a JavaScript guy, a hard core PHP Programmer, a Graphic Artist who made many of those fun smileys, a C++ programmer for DLLs, the SEO and Marketing people, and a very cool Boss - the CEO who oversees. It really feels great working with them (much more when you know we are mixed races, we came from different countries).

Aside from these things, I also work on some part time projects and some projects with my partner, Rey (though he, himself also has a lot of things to get done). He works on the backend side. Right now we are doing two big projects. Hmp! He nags on me and acts so bossy at times so I tend to delay my part. Hahaha (palusot)! Anyhow, just the thought of working with my better half feels great too. So great!

But why such a fuss today? This is gonna be hectic. Later on I need to go to Trinoma with Rey and Rey’s Mom (who just came home from Dubai) and Rey’s Dad. Oh I hate such long trips (mahina ako sa biyahe and I always get hilo. Huhuhu). But I just wanna be with my baby for this will be the day he’ll get a MacBook! Woohooo! He invited me to shop with him kasi for sure, yayabangan n’ya na naman ako. Hehehe. Surely, my 1-year old Neo laptop will look like a trash na talaga. He’ll make fun of it pa. Arrgh!

Speaking of laptops, I am not into buying a new one soon unless someone will offer a very low and friendly price for a MacBook Pro. Impossible! It is always more than a hundred thousand pesos! And since there are so many things I pay for (e.g. house rent, Internet, utilities, TV, PC set, and being the eldest of 6), then it’s gonna be a long way to a MacBook Pro and a longer way to a Mazda 6 car (hindi naman talaga ‘to suntok sa buwan, right? unlike a red Ferrari). Well, It's ok. I am still young and at this point, I am learning to be responsible enough. If I cannot save so much this time, at least I am helping my family. They deserve it.

I will love Mazda 6 with any color

Ferrari - just a dream

Rey is a bit luckier. He earns a lot then spends it all by himself (and with me - on dates, on movies, and etc. hehehe). He is very good with his job, no doubt! He seems to live quite in luxury but this guy saves a lot and plans so much for the future (our future). I’ve got a very good guy! Not that he is financially equipped. He is just so responsible that I feel so blessed. I am very happy that we are both working hard to achieve our big dreams and that we are so much of an inspiration to each other. But then I would like to let him know that with or without luxury, I’ll still be happy to stay with him and love him so much. I am so thankful!

With my baby, I can be as sweet as I can be.

Ah! this must be our first picture together. we were just best of friends then.

Now back to the present moment… it is still Kulog Payo! Yeah, work! The moment Rey is finished shopping at Trinoma and I’ve got myself home na from a long biyahe (North to Pasig Area), I’ll be back to work. Buti na lang I went on shopping last week pa. And I’ve got Christmas gifts for my brothers and sisters na. Yihee!

Hay… Merry Christmas!

Sorry for the mixed thoughts...

back to work!
